These incredibly well designed axles have changed the customising game (for us at MCH at least) because it does away with the biggest problem with making your own axles – that being the age old question of ‘how do I close off the other end of the axle once I have put my wheels on?!’
These axles come in three parts – the main axle itself (which is hollow) and two small end ‘caps’ that are in essence small pins that slide INTO the axle barrel and instantly create a capped axle at each end. The images below provide some insight into what I am talking about but the video (from which the screenshots were taken) provides the easiest and quickest way of seeing what all the fuss is about.
What is All The Fuss About?
The majority of aftermarket wheel companies out there either provide axles that are capped at one end and require you to ‘cap’ the other end yourself (usually with a spot of solder or epoxy) or they take the easier route and simply don’t provide axles at all
But the guys who produced the alloy 1:64 scale wheels that I also sell obviously had their thinking caps on because what they have come up with is a devilishly simple way of sealing both ends of the axle – no problemo! See instructional video guide below for more details.
